A Big Hair Talk!

Tänään vuorossa hiusasiaa! Kesä koittaa pian ja mun tekisi kovasti mieli tehdä hiuksilleni jotain ennen sitä. Uusi väri tai leikkaus piristää mieltä aina niin kovasti ja mulla on ollut samantyyppiset hiukset nyt jo tosi pitkään. Oon myös viime aikoina huomannut, että pidän hiuksiani yhä useammin vaan kiinni, joten oon alkanut harkitsemaan, että leikkaisin näitä vähän lyhyemmiksi. Ehkä sitten se auki pitäminenkin ois vähän helpompaa :) Nyt tuntuu, että jos jätän hiukset aamulla auki niin parin tunnin kuluttua ne on jo ihan solmussa. Väristä en oikeen tiedä... Oon tykännyt tästä hiukan punaiseen taittavasta tummanruskeasta tosi paljon, mutta eilen katselin vanhoja kuvia joissa mulla oli vähän vaaleammat hiukset, ruskeat siis edelleen mutta paljon vaaleaa raitaa ja sekin voisi olla vaihteeksi taas kiva. Kunnon punaistahan mä oon aina haaveillut, mutta kun ei oo punapigmenttiä suotu yhtään niin se pysyisi varmaan tasan sen pari pesua.

Today it's time for a big hair talk! Summer is coming soon and I would really like to do something different for my hair. New colour or haircut always cheers me up so much and now I have had this same kind of hair for so long. I have noticed that nowadays I almost always have my hair up and not open so I have seriously started to consider of cutting them a little bit shorter. Maybe then it would be easier to style them and also let them open :) Now I feel that if I just leave them open, after two hours they are only a big mess and I have to spend a long time to brush them again. About the colour, I am not sure... This dark brown with a little bit red in it has been very nice but yesterday I was looking at old pictures where I had little bit lighter hair colour. Still brown, but with many blond stripes. What I have always dreamed about is red, but since I don't have any pigment for that I think it would only last two washes and then it would be gone.

Cut could be something like in these pictures, so that the ends would be little bit lighter and there would be more layers, minus the fringe :D It took so many years to get rid of that so I am not going back there..

Nyt on hiuksista puhutaan niin ajattelin myös esitellä mun hiustuotevalikoiman. Itselläni on todella paksu ja pitkä tukka, joten sen kunnossa pitäminen vaatii myös aika paljon työtä. Käytän silti ihan perustuotteita, koska opiskelijabudjetilla ei oo varaa ostella aina kalleimpia kampaamomerkkejä ja hyvin oon pärjännyt näilläkin.

Now when it's all about hair, I thought I could also introduce all of my hair products. I have A LOT of hair and my hair is very long too, so keeping it in good shape takes quite a lot of work. Still, I use basic market products because with student budget I can't buy all the most expensive products.

Shampoo ja hoitoaine // Shampoo and conditioner - L'oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss Shine

Shampoona ja hoitoaineena oon jo pidemmän aikaa käyttänyt L'orealin Nutri-Gloss Shine-sarjan tuotteita. Noilla jättikoon pulloilla on täällä hintaa noin 5 euroa ja shampoo riittää hyvin ainakin pariksi kuukaudeksi, hoitoaine vielä pidempään, sillä pesen hiuksiani vain 2-3 päivän välein. Oon siitä onnekas ettei mun hiukset rasvoitu oikeastaan ollenkaan, joten oon todennut että turha niitä on alkaa joka päivä pesemään. Tää shampoo on tehnyt mun tukasta kiiltävämmän ja myös helpommin käsiteltävän, heti pesun jälkeen tuntuu hiukset aina ihanan sileiltä.

My shampoo and conditioner favourite has already for long been these L'oreal Nutri-Gloss Shine products. These extra big bottles cost about 5 euros and shampoo lasts at least two months, conditioner even longer because I only wash my hair in every 2-3 days. I am quite lucky because my hair doesn't really start looking dirty even though I don't wash it, so there is no need to wash it every day. This shampoo and conditioner have made my hair softer and easier to brush and also given a lot of shine.

 Tää shampoo on jo melkein lopussa, joten viime viikolla päätin vaihtelun vuoksi ostaa kokeiluun tätä Aussien Miracle Shine-shampoota. Oon ihan rakastunut kaikkiin tähän asti kokeilemiini Aussien tuotteisiin, joten oon aika varma että tuun tykkäämään tästäkin! Pullo maksaa täällä vähän päälle neljä euroa.

My old shampoo is almost finished so last week I decided to buy this Aussie Miracle Shine shampoo for a change. I have never tried this before but since I have loved all the other Aussie products I am quite sure I will also like that one. Bottle costs little bit over four euros here. 

 Tehohoito // Deep treatment - Aussie 3 Minutes Miracle, Luscious Long

Ystäväni Jade osti tätä itselleen kun oli täällä vierailulla joulukuussa ja positiivista palautetta kuultuani päätin itsekin ostaa kokeiluun. Ja en oo kyllä katunut hetkeäkään! Puteli maksaa täällä vähän päälle neljä euroa ja on todellakin joka sentin arvoinen. Käytän tätä hoitoaineen korvikkeena, noin joka toisella pesukerralla. Voin rehellisesti sanoa, että mikään aikaisempi mun kokeilema tuote ei oo tehnyt tukasta niin silkkisen tuntuista kuin tämä! Plussana ihana tuoksu.

My friend bought this to herself when she was visiting me on December and she liked it a lot so I decided to also give it a try. And I haven't regretted for a second! This bottle costs little bit over four euros and it's worth of every cent. I replace the conditioner with that every second wash time and I can honestly say that it's my number one favourite at the moment. My hair has never felt as soft as after using this. Also a big plus is the heavenly good scent.

Hiusnaamio // Hair mask - Cutrin Nordic Balance

Tämän naamion ostin viime vuonna Kauneus ja Terveys-messuilta (kyllä, sitä on edelleen jäljellä :D) ja se on ollut tosi riittoisa, osittain varmasti myös siksi että oon ihan liian laiska käyttämään hiusnaamiota. Tämän kesän tavoitteena voiskin siis olla, että kerran viikossa laitan naamion hiuksiin ja istuskelen sitten vaikka saunassa sen 10 minuuttia jonka se vaikuttaa. :) Hintaa en enää edes muista! On ollut hyvä tuote, mutta mielestäni mulla kotona käytössä oleva toinen naamio on vielä parempi. En nyt millään saa päähäni minkä tuotesarjan se on, mutta täytyy tarkistaa kun pääsee taas kotituotteisiin käsiksi!

This hair mask I bought last year at Beauty & Health fair (yes, I still have some of it left) and I am far too lazy to use it. So my promise for this summe could be that I will use hair mask once a week! I always think I don't have time for it but I could well go to sauna and relax those 10 minutes it has to affect. Can't remember the price of this one anymore. It has been a good product but I prefer the other one I have at home (also don't remember name of that one) I have to write it here when I get back home and can use all of my beauty products which are waiting for me there again!

 Hiuksiin jätettävä hoitoaine // Leave-in conditioner - Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance

Tämän ostin samaan aikaan tuon tehohoidon kanssa ja myös tähän oon ollut tyytyväinen. Mun on aina pakko harjata hiukseni auki märkänä, koska jos annan niiden kuivua ensin niin niitä ei saa selväksi enää millään. Se on hiuksille melko rasittavaa, joten käytän aina myös hiuksiin jätettävää hoitoainetta. Kuten kaikissa Aussien tuotteissa, tässäkin on aivan ihana tuoksu. Hinta vähän päälle neljä euroa.

This product I bought the same time with deep treatment and I have been very happy with it. I always have to brush my hair when it's wet because if I let it dry first it's an impossible mission. Brushing when it's wet is quite tough for the hair so I always use the leave-in conditioner. Like all the Aussie products this one also smells wonderful!

 

Hoitoöljyt // Oil treatments - Scwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair ja Phil Smith Argan Oil

Scwarzkopfin öljyn ostin tammikuussa Suomessa ollessani ja pullo on ollut todella riittoisa. Pumppupullo on myös kätevä annostelun kannalta! Levitän aina pari pumppauksellista öljyä pyyhekuivien hiusten latvoihin ja pituuksiin. Phil Smithin Argan Oilin sain itseasiassa Cosmon ostaessani kaupan päälle ja sitä oon ehtinyt kokeilla vasta muutaman kerran, mutta vaikuttaa hyvältä tuotteelta. Koostumus on tässä enemmän geelimäinen, kun taas tuo Scwarzkopfin tuote on rehellisen öljyinen. Scwarzkopfia käytän välillä myös kampauksen viimeistelyyn, tuo kivaa kiiltoa!

Scwarzkopf's oil products I bought on January when I was in Finland and it has been very good products. It also lasts long! Every time after washing my hair I spread couple of drops of that to the ends and lengths. Phil Smith's Argan Oil I actually got as a gift when I bought Cosmo and I have only tried it couple of times this far but it seems to be good too. It's more like a gel than oil and Scwarzkopf in turn, is a real oil. Sometimes I also use Scwarzkopf oil for finishing my hairstyle. 

Lämpösuoja // Heat defence - TREsemmé Heat Defence

Tätä kyseistä lämpösuojaa oon käyttänyt jo useiden vuosien ajan ja omille hiuksilleni se soveltuu hyvin. Mulla on edelleen kauhukuvia niistä ensimmäisistä lämpösuojista, jotka oli todella tahmaisia geeliversioita ja teki tukasta hetkessä likaisen näköisen. Omille hiuksilleni suihkutettava, kevyempi versio on huomattavasti parempi. Nykyään käytän hiustenkuivaajaa todella harvoin, sillä useimmiten pesen hiukseni illalla ennen nukkumaanmenoa ja annan niiden kuivua yön yli. Aamulla ne on jo melkein kuivat :D Silloin kun kuivaajaa kuitenkin käytän, suihkutan tätä aina pyyhekuiviin hiuksiin ennen kuivaamisen aloittamista. Myös ennen suoristamista/kihartamista, suihkutan aina tätä ja harjaan hiukset sitten läpi.

I have been using this same heat defence already for years and for my hair it's a perfect product. I still remember those first heat defences which were really sticky gels and made your hair look dirty in a second. For my hair, this spray version is a lot better! Today, I use the hair dryer really seldom because usually I wash my hair in the evening and let it dry during the night. When I do use a dryer, I always spray this one to my hair first. Also before straightening or curling my hair, I always use this one and brush my hair through.

TREsemmé 24Hour Body Blow Dry Lotion

En ees tiedä mikä tän virallinen nimi voisi suomeksi olla :D Mutta tän ostin ihan heräteostoksena kerran Tescosta ja käytän tätä aina ennen föönausta. Eli ensin lämpösuoja ja sitten tätä hiusten tyveen. Auttaa kohottamaan tyveä ja hiuksista tulee tuuheamman näköiset. Maksoi niin ikään reilut neljä euroa!

I don't even know what is the right name for this product :D I saw this in Tesco and I just wanted to try it and now I use it always before drying my hair. So, first I put the heat defence and then I spray this one to the bottom of the hair. It makes your hair look bigger and fluffy! It also cost about 4 euros.

Hiuslakka // Hair spray - Wellaflex Silvikrin

Hiuslakkaa käytän nykyään tosi harvoin ja tämänkin pullon taisin itseasiassa ostaa jo joskus syksyn alussa. En tykkää perinteisistä hiuslakoista, koska niistä jää tahmainen ja koppurainen lopputulos. Tämä on ollut ihan hyvä peruslakka, mutta myös tästä jää omaan makuuni hiukan liian kova lopputulos. Nyt oliskin siis hakusessa se täydellinen hiuslakka, joka sopisi pitkille hiuksille, antaisi hiukan pitoa ja runsaasti kiiltoa mutta jättäisi hiukset silkkisen pehmeiksi. Jos on suosituksia niin kertokaa! Kerran oon tän täydellisen lakan löytänyt, tai itseasiassa saanut joululahjaksi. Se oli Cutrinilta ja osa tota Nordic Balance-sarjaa, mutta sitä ei nykyään valmisteta enää ollenkaan. :(

I use hair spray very seldom and actually I bought this bottle already in the beginning of Autum. I don't like traditional hair sprays because they make your hair feel sticky and hard. This has been quite good basic products but also this one is too strong for my taste. So, now I am looking for that perfect hair spray which would give some hold and a lot of shine but still leave your hair feel smooth and soft. If you have good recommendations, please let me know! Once I found that perfect one, or actually got it as a Christmas present. It was from Cutrin and also part of the Nordic Balance serie but unfortunately they stopped producing it :(

Kuivashampoo // Dry shampoo - Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume

Näihin Batisten kuivashampoisiin tutustuin vasta täällä Irlannissa ja oon nyt kokeillut muutamaakin erilaista versiota. Kuivashampoota käytän siis kampausten pohjalle, eli esimerkiksi ennen kihartamista suihkutan hiusten tyveen, jotta vaikutelma olisi kuohkeampi. Tää on myös mun pelastus salitreenien jälkeen, jos ei oo aikaa pestä tukkaa ja on kiirehdittävä johonkin tai niinä aamuina kun tukka näyttää vähän likaiselta ja lässähtäneeltä. Hinta-laatusuhde on näissä ihan kohdallaan, koska pullo maksaa vaan 3-4 euroa, mutta kyllä se Klippotekin kuivashampoo on edelleen mun oma suosikki.

I got familiar with these Batiste dry shampoos only here in Ireland and I have now tried couple of different versions. Dry shampoo I use before styling my hair, for example before I start making curls I spray this to the bottom of the hair so that it would look bigger. This has also saved me many times after the gym if I don't have time to wash my hair and I have to hurry somewhere or in those mornings when your hair suddenly looks dirty. It's good value for money because it only costs like 3-4 euros but I still prefer my old favourite: Klippotek, over these :)

Suoristusrauta // Hair straightener - Babyliss Paris Ipro230ionic

Tajusin vasta nyt, että herranjestas miten vanha toi mun suoristusrauta on :D Saatiin siskon kanssa molemmat uudet suoristusraudat äitiltä joululahjaksi joskus vuonna... No en ees muista. Muutama vuosi takaperin käytin tätä melkein päivittäin, mutta nykyään niin harvakseltaan että hyvin se on kestänyt. Hyviä puolia tässä on se, että lämmön saa säätää haluamalleen voimakkuudelle, sekä pyörivä johto, joten myös kiharoita on helpompi tehdä. Viime aikoina tällä suoristaessani oon kuitenkin alkanut huomata, että ikä meinaa vähän jo painaa! Noi suoristuslevyt meinaan alkaa olla jo niin vanhat, ettei rauta enää liu'u helposti vaan se repii vähän hiuksia. Ostoslistalle voisikin nyt sitten lisätä uuden suoristusraudan. Uusi rauta saisi ehdottomasti olla sellainen, jossa noi levyjen reunat olis pyöristetyt, niin kiharoita olis kivempi tehdä!

Oh my god, I just realised how old this straightener is :D Me and my sister both got new straighteners as a Christmas present from our mom in year... Hmm. Many years ago! Couple of years ago I used to use this almost every day but now I use it so seldom that it has last well. Good sides with this are that you can choose the suitable temperature for your hair and also rolling cable, which makes making curls a lot easier. Lately, I have started to notice that it would be a time to buy a new one. Those ceramic straightening plates are so old that they don't slide on hair smoothly and it damages your hair. So, now I could add a new hair straightener to my shopping list. I want that my new straightener would have plates which would be little bit round on the sides, so that curling the hair would be even easier.

 

Kiharrinrauta // Hair curlener - Remington CI-76

Tämän raudan sain niin ikään äipältä joululahjaksi, mutta olin kyllä itse mukana sitä valitsemassa. Myös tässä lämmön voimakkuuden saa säädettyä itse ja oon ollut tähän kaikin puolin tyytyväinen! Mukana tuli myös lämpöä kestävä suojapussi, joka on tosi kätevä jos on esimerkiksi reissussa eikä ehdi odotella raudan jäähtymistä ennen kuin pakkaa sen laukkuun. Tuon suojapussinhan siis oon jo aikoja sitten hävittänyt johonkin, mutta se OLI kätevä. Tää on mun hiuksille sopivan paksu malli, sillä sellaisella ihan kapealla raudalla kestäisi tän tukan kihartaminen varmaan koko päivän. Tämänkin kanssa siihen kyllä melkein pari tuntia vierähtää...

This one I also got as a Christmas present but I was also present when it was bought and chose it by myself. You can choose the temperature by yourself and also otherwise it has been very good product. You also get a nice heat resistent travel bag with it, so you don't have to wait it to cool down before you can put it into your bag. That travel bag used to be very handy before I lost it somewhere. This model is big enough for my hair because with smaller one it would take the whole day to curl my hair. It already takes like 2 hours with this one :D

Ja viimeisenä mutta ei vähäisimpänä mun harjat. Toinen on Frank Provostin luonnonharjaksinen harja, jonka äiti lähetti mulle kun oma rakas hiusharjani hajosi. Täytyy vielä kertoa että tää edesmennyt yksilö oli paras hiusharja jonka oon koskaan omistanut ja varmaan tuun omistamaankaan. Tilasin sen aikoinani kampaajaltani ja se palveli mua useiden vuosien ajan. :D Seuraavalla kampaamoreissulla täytyy rukoilla että niitä valmistettaisiin edelleen... Jokatapauksessa tätä harjaa käytän yleensä märkien hiusten harjaamiseen. Toisen harjan puolestaan ostin ihan vaan Bootsista täällä, se on juuri sopivan massiivinen mun hiusten selvittämiseen ja tätä käytänkin sitten aamuisin hiusten auki harjaamiseen. Sellaiset pienemmät muoviset harjat kun tuppaa usein halkeamaan ja hajoamaan heti ekalla harjauskerralla, mun hiukset on sen verran paksut :D

Less but not least, my hair brushes. One is softer one with natural brushes and it's from Frank Provost. My mom send me this one when my BEST brush ever got broken :( I have to tell you that the brush I had was really a best brush I have ever owned and probably will. I ordered it from my hairdresser for many years ago and it served me over 5 years. Maybe next time I go to my hairdresser I should ask if they still produce those. Anyway, this Frank Provost brush I use for wet hair because it's softer. My other brush I bought in Boots here and it's big and strong enough for brushing my morning hair. Those small plastic brushes always broke in the first time and get stuck in my hair :D

Siinä tän hetken hiuskuulumisia :) Mieli tekisi kovasti raahtata noita Aussien tuotteita Suomeenkin mukana kun ne on täällä puolet halvempia kuin esimerkiksi Sokkarilla Suomessa. Mutta jotenkin vaan epäilen, ettei mun matkalaukuissa tuu olemaan niiden menevää ylimääräistä aukkoa...

There was something about hair situation at the moment. I would really like to take those Aussie products with me to Finland because they are so much cheaper here than back home. But somehow I feel that I won't have any extra space in my suitcases... Yes, it's in plural.
